I would find it 'beyond shocking' if Church asked Parker to not go on mission.

Unless your source is one of the 15, sorry but I'm not buying it. Parker would have been drafted in same #2 position if he had gone to BYU, he would have grown more spiritually IMO, and his team would have gone farther in NCAA tournament. Going to BYU is as good as anywhere else if your only consideration is NBA and better if you value more than that.
