Not sure you even read my post...as it talks about life AFTER college.
You're simply wrong. Any prominent player who plays for BYU automatically has Mormon tattooed onto their forehead metaphorically. There are lots and lots of great LDS players who went other places...who knows they are Mormon in the general population?
A prominent player will simply be a much more conspicuous "Mormon" ambassador after college if BYU is attached to his name. It's not even debatable.
