You also fail to assume that a Arizona win over Oregon...

would result in a big jump in the polls and thus positioning them for a bid to the playoffs. I don't think Georgia Tech would have had a massive jump, but taking out the defending champion who is undefeated would result in a jump enough to eliminate 1 of the BIGXII teams.

If GT and AZ wins... TCU or Baylor gets it... not both. GT or AZ would get in.
