There's a fairly high probability that many people on this board will live through very turbulent times. It could be a volcanic eruption that causes widespread crop failure, economic or currency collapse, large scale civil unrest and martial law, a global pandemic, severe regional drought, a 7.5 magnitude earthquake, a solar flare that causes long term disruption in our electrical grid...I could literally do this all day.

The world/universe is a very unpredictable place. Not being prepared for some the most likely SHTF scenarios seems foolhardy.
