A lot of what we do here is just getting people to "yes." So, we set up seminars, we get clients to come, we get people agree to lunches and breakfasts. All this requires a lot of the people skills which I believe correlate to having had good summer sales results.
I mean, not to brag (about something that isn't worth bragging about) but I killed it at summer sales. Now I am constantly selling our law firm and, I think, doing a good job of it. I am just too busy and I need help. I kind of want a mini-me. It is almost like an apprenticeship because once the person proves they can do what I do, I'll be out of there doing my other things, and they can make more money.
I appreciate your initial feedback. I'm going to rethink this and re-post tomorrow because, admittedly, I haven't done a great job of selling this opportunity.
Oh, one interesting note: we posted on craigslist and have received a lot of resumes which other companies might have considered good leads. However, I'm trying to catch the right person at the right time in their life. Ideally, I'd find someone just out of college and ready to roll. I'd pay him or her $25k the first year (or so) while he/she learned the ropes, then $60k the next year. Then when our firm is a multijurisdictional household name legal juggernaut, this person would assume the responsibility as marketing exec (or whatever they want to call it). I know those are big dreams, but we're growing so fast and we don't plan on stopping.
