We may indeed be the best choice in a vacuum, but our vacuum is located 2,000 miles from WVU, the Big 12's last addition. Cincinnati is right around the corner. So adding us compounds a geographic issue instead of solving it. Most likely: the Big 12 adds 1 other eastern team with a good TV market to solve their WVU problem. Less likely: it adds 1 Eastern and 2 Western to go to 14, and while they're clearly football worthy, I'm not sure BYU plus Boise are compelling enough TV markets to make this happen. Least likely: it adds BYU and essentially hangs WVU out to dry.

In other words, I won't be surprised if the Big 12 expands but not in our direction. I'll try not to take it personally.
