team. Maybe 4 or 5 years ago they had a shot at Clemson and FSU, but now the ACC is much stronger football conference than it was. The SEC and B10 are interested in expansion, and nobody's jumping ship. For the B12 to stay a legit P5 conference they need a championship game and they need a few more teams to make it happen.
The B12 needs an expansion target that brings some type of value. BYU brings that value. They need each other. Cougarclaw's post simply points out that MAYBE BYU recognized its own value and didn't just lay down for the B12. BYU Could have been perfectly reasonable looking for a long-term deal beneficial to all parties, but the B12 isn't exactly known for strategic long-term thinking.
