I'd pay 50k to hunt some of the lazy rich guys that have created a "canned hunt"
industry, or not far from it, where huge fees have evolved into a type of hunting I disagree with big time. Of course, mods, I'm kidding about hunting canned hunters. A combination of bait, herding, and in some cases, releasing an animal, and the hunter barely has to get out of the SUV to shoot. Because of the profitability, and near guarantee the hunter will bag an animal, it has led to an industry where the most egregious cases disgust me.

Let me be clear. Some of the posts disagree w/ paying such high fees, some w/ killing majestic animals in a way that is often far from what real hunting is and should be. People should spend their money on whatever they choose, for all I know some guy donates millions to charity or Church, so it's not fair to judge him simply because the amount they pay. It's the skewed and manufactured great odds created by baiting and other tactics I have a problem with. Hunting a lion w/ a bow is very much a fair hunt, imo. Even if he's driven to it, it's still very dangerous and gives the lion a fighting chance. If he has 3 guys w/ rifles ready to drop it if he misses or it charges, not so much. My feelings have changed re; killing of majestic and beautiful big cats and others, I won't do it and I wish it wasn't as common as it is. But thats me, within the law, people have the right to hunt whatever is legal. It's not the $, or even the animal I object to. It's hunting on Elk Farms, released animal canned hunts, and stuff mentioned above. Also, hunting permits given out each year don't count the % poached, and I worry certain animals are being taken in numbers that might endanger the future of certain species. The $ involved is too much to ignore for certain countries and regions, and managing the species isn't priority #1. Thats just an opinion, I have zero data to back that up. If you look at fishing around the world, big game probably isn't any different in poor countries. Some types of fish are in big trouble due to overfishing.

You're not a big stud hunter adventurer by shooting a Grizzly or Lion thats hanging out 20 yards from a bait station it's camped out at. And you're driven right to it and barely have to exit the rig to shoot it. There's a lot of stud fair hunt dudes that stalk and hunt w/ bows and even rifles. Having to stalk through the woods for days, where a Grizzly or whatever can charge out of nowhere or even stalk you from behind, where the hunter becomes the hunted. I have utmost respect for real hunters, even if my feelings have changed over time. My rant is directed solely to a type of hunting, not most hunters who do it right.
