Scenarios w/SDSU, CSU, and UNLV to the PAC12 aren't believable IMHO

None of those schools fit in with the existing PAC12 members. One could argue that SDSU, CSU and UNLV compare favorably with WSU or even OSU, however the latter set of schools has a near 100 year tradition of conference affiliation and rivalries that the former set lacks.
