at a higher price by living very close to campus. There are some really good landlords at BYU who have very responsive maintenance and are very dedicated to keeping nice apartments. But the ones who don't care and actually don't have to care because of their proximity to campus are the losers who's apartments are within the first 3 to 4 blocks south of campus. There is a very high proportion of terrible landlords in that area. But they can be terrible and overpriced and unresponsive and still be filled 100% so they just don't care.
I know some terrible landlords I also know some really good ones. If the original poster would like some tips from a current property owner of BYU approved housing I can definitely give it to him
