I didn't say that BYU couldn't compete like those schools.
To some extent, I think that BYU is already competing like those schools. We've been the model of consistency (other than Boise--with their weak schedule).
I was talking about competing with top 15 programs....that's why I referenced Utah and TCU. TCU has made the transition...Utah hasn't.
However, I still think that BYU can compete with that group if it continues to build the program. It'll take time to improve facilities and recruiting.
