Are you picking 400 because it is the home you want or because it is the right
Home you can afford? It seems to me that you are stretching to get the 400k because you want it not because you can afford it. Maybe I am wrong but you dont want to be house poor and have big student loans I would rent until I can truly afford it.
Also, I do not assume 400k is an expensive home.
