Having sat on a medical school admissions committee for a year
I will add that undergraduate institution was important, at least at my school. A 3.9 from UCLA was outstanding whereas a 3.9 from Long Beach State was unlikely to get an interview. MCAT scores can help an applicant from a less prestigious school.

Actually, this is a really good point. Dating in med school and residency is pretty much impossible.
