Then his role changed when Rose took over for Cleve--& a light went on for KT. And it didn't come all at once--but Rose gave him more & more responsibility over the course of the first month that season--until he had pretty much supplanted Plaisted as our premier big. One of the biggest turn-around stories I can remember in our hardcourt history here.
One thing that Keena (& his game) doesn't get enough credit for was his nails free throw shooting. It was a BIG reason why he was so effective. As far as clutch FT shooting went, he was right up there with Jimmer. That was the one aspect of his game that kept me from making too much of the Aytes/Keena comparisons. At least early on when Aytes was looking like a great recruit for us (& hopefully we can see some degree of turnaround if he can get himself healthy).
