Throwing a timing route to the outside edge and asking Mitch to go up and get it
is very different than a fly route and coming back to the ball. I've had discussions with one of the receivers involved in the jump balls. They were not supposed to have to come back. They were supposed to be able to run under it.
The current coaches can even explain why it happened so frequently to Tanner and it's something they can work on. He'll be great. Just isn't great yet.
