I seriously doubt that Holmoe approached Trotter with a statement like this: "We really want to join the Big 12 ... so much so that we'd even take a football-only invite." Holmoe and BYU offered up their Press Release shortly after the Big12's announcement to expand and it didn't say anything about "Football only" then.

The "Football only" thing is something that Big12 and national CFB writers discuss a lot for BYU because of the Sunday Play issue (and to maybe pair us with Boise State). Wrubell discusses it A LOT too (he seems to oddly favor it at times).

Writers ask questions in interviews and I'm sure that Trotter asked Holmoe about the "Football only" option via question like: "What if the Big12 offered Football-only as the only alternative?" or "Are you open to the idea of a Football-only invite?"

So, I ask you to please provide me an answer to a question like that which would give you the confidence you seem to be seeking from him, while not seeming like a pompous or prickly institution.
