Week 13 – #3 BYU (11-0) vs USU (6-5) – Sat, Nov 26, 2016 – LES – Provo, UT – 10:15pm EST – ESPN2
BYU keeps it’s top-4 ranking in the CFP rankings when #2 TCU lost to Texas earlier tonight. Many national commentators suggest it’s perfectly fine to give BYU a slot in the CFP. Others bristle at a non-ND, non P5 team being included. Most agree, however, that BYU is P5 by most conferences already and will officially be P5 next season so why cut them out now?
USU has had an up-and-down season and does not prove to be on the same level as this BYU team. Jamaal has an incredible senior night and officially passes Harvey Unga as the all-time BYU rushing leader early in the first half. BYU elected this to be the black-out game and it contrasts nicely with the lightly falling snow.
Taysom also takes this game personally and considers it a great way to cap off his career, slaughtering the team that was responsible for 2 of his season-ending injuries. BYU scores early and often and never looks back. Taysom throws TD passes to Trinnaman and Kurtz (23 and 14 yards respectively) and gets 2 rushing TD’s (15 and 33 yards) to cap off an amazing senior season.
Players of the Game – Taysom and Jamaal – 24/31, 288 yds, 2 TD’s, 7 rushes, 63 yards, 2 TD’s, JSwag – 24 rushes, 117 yards, 2 TD’s, 4 catches, 55 yards, 1 TD.
