I tend to agree with you, but also consider that the presence of 3 FBS teams and a lot of attention and a lot of CFB fans will draws the best athletes towards wanting to be CFB players.

There're lots of great athletes in the northeast, but they are drawn more towards basketball (or soccer or lacrosse )

But your argument of "using the Internet" goes both ways. BYU, UU, USU coaches wouldn't give a Scholarship to someone just because he lives in UT ... or is that what you're suggesting? They know how to use the Internet too ... (Though @boneyfuller might argue that point regarding the Aggies)
