How in the world do we pound those fools soo much then with subpar recruits?
Having loved I. The south with two brothers who played HS football in two different southern states vs utah now for almost 3 decsdes..I can tell you that the difference in HS coaches stature in society is very different.
Accompanying this is how dialed I'm southern coaches are to recruiting and hanging out with sec, acc and other d1 coaches.
Southern coaches promote their players much much more than u5ah coaches. This is also true in TX..
Conversely I have heard from the mouth of two current 5 a head coaches in utah to parents of their kids to NOT send their kids to camps and to not open hudl accounts!

It's not even close..my little bro who played forUtah was a back up qb, holder,te on his HS team.. His coach got him.a schollsrship... A BACKUP!
Actually he got him 2..He decided to come out to utah instead and was going to walk on at byu...
Kyle and some other coaches saw him playing pick up ball and that is how he got onto the Utes..
But the point is..in a school not known for football..he went to Laney..Micha3l.Jordans HS....he earned a scholly as a back up qb and te in a run oriented offense...

My other brother same thing.. his coach got him trips to Georgia, Georgia Southern. ECU, South Carolina..he was offered by Georgia Southern . (His grades weren't very good) and then his eyes got worse as he shares the same eye disease I have and decided to notplay.
One of thise schools made his truck patent for him for the summer and another bought him an engagement ring to give to his girlfriend whom they also offered a partial scholly to if he signed.

The amount of effort hs coaches I utah put into recruiting by comparison isn't close.
