I actually think if BYU softens language the Big XII can say we addressed our

concerns with BYU and they were nothing but professional and we worked together to find common ground.

It makes the Big XII show they took the concerns of the LGBT community seriously and it shows BYU, in good faith, softened language without changing doctrines.
