Changing the wording of the HC is not going to do anything to help BYU.

LGBTQ groups are not going to accept a modification of wording that does not allow of the open expression of homosexuality on campus. Even then, they will still likely insist that the Church change its doctrine too.

Whether or not the LGBTQ issue will keep BYU out of the Big 12 is a different question, but just changing the wording will affect nothing.
