Half right. They are doing more than "speaking up." They are attempting to
exclude the student athletes of another educational institution from participation in college athletics.

Please don't respond with "but BYU can still participate in college athletics, they just have to do it outside the NCAA's power structure or the NCAA itself"... the NCAA is a de facto monopoly, is financially entangled with countless government-sponsored institutions, and may even seek antitrust exemption from the federal gvt, which only furthers its entanglement with government.

Under free speech principles (although perhaps not under the 1st Amendment itself) we shouldn't support the exclusion from competition of any student athlete merely because the athlete attends a university that has loud, powerful political opponents.
