Walk-on
During this whole debate I've thought it would be both funny and enlightening
for a pro-single or anti-marriage group to release a statement opposing BYU's inclusion into the Big 12.
"They don't allow single people to have sex which discriminates against the non-married. That is not in alignment with Big 12 values."

Sad so many young people are missing their education of the first amendment.

This isn't a first amendment issue.

Which amendment prohibits the govt from prohibiting free exercise of religion?

In what way is the big 12 the government?

Big 12 is not. KSU, as a state sponsored institution, is an extension of govt.

Yes, and if KSU prohibited LDS students from attending, that would be actionable

No one should claim that the NCAA or a bakery is violating their 1st am. rights

There might be a government action here. Even if not, 1st Amend. is a principle.

Yes, this is what I'm referencing. The idea that tolerance and free exercise should be a prevailing principle
soupie

Then these KSU students are exercising their first amendment rights.

It's not the students voicing their opinion that would bother me. It's if the B12 allows those opinions
soupie
9/29/16 10:52am
Sure, and that's up to the Big 12, to decide which voices matter.
