100% agree (when it comes to cahoon/drop discussion)
No one is learning how to catch at the D1 level. DO you get better with the thousands of reps you see over the summer and in camp every year? Of course. Is cahoon somehow making these guys worse at catching the football? No. This has been one of the more weird things to gain traction in my opinion on CB. The only way cahoon would be negatively affecting catching is if WRs never took passes during camp or practice. Catching is like speed. Can you work on it and get better? Sure. Are you going to go from no hands to world class from high school to college? No, neither are you going from great hands to bad hands because of a position coach.

Now when it comes to special teams coaching (kickers and punting), o and d line, dbs etc I think those coaches can make a big impact. There are a lot of big strong guys out there that need to learn how to sustain a block against a speed rusher. Now, if he already is bigger and stronger than most people, it will be an easier transition. But technique is important, and coaches can make a difference.
