Haven't read all the other responses, so I'm sure some of this ground is covered. However, this worry is greatly
exaggerated. Taysom is seen a lot of defenses in his time. Tanner is only one year removed from his mission. Also, just as Ty has adjusted the offense to some degree for Taysom, he will do the same for Tanner. Whatever Tanner's strengths and weaknesses are, they will be accounted for in the offseason as Ty and the other coaches make tweaks and plans for Tanner's reign as QB1.

Further, and perhaps more importantly, Tanner is learning all the time. There is NO reason to think that he won't experience normal growth and development in this offense and be well prepared to run this offense by the time opening game 2017 rolls around. It's another reason why we should all be grateful that Taysom returned this year - he's the one experiencing the growing pains with this new offense. Tanner gets to learn holding a clipboard, and will see meaningful time down the stretch this year, I'm sure. Tanner's time on the bench will be well served.

Lastly, Tanner is not the only QB in the stable. If Tanner really can't pick up the offense, he'll be replaced by someone who can. There's no way that none of our QB's are picking up the offense well enough to run the show on at least a competent level.

Now, if you see the coaching staff spreading out across the country to bring in JC QB's that run pro-style offenses, then you might start worrying. Until then, we can assume that the big-time QB recruit we have on the bench is getting up to speed and on track to experience success when his turn comes.
