I've lived in Cheyenne and Colorado Springs over the last 13 years and have always been amazed to find how many of the locals in the Cheyenne and C.S. wards really disliked, if not loathed, BYU. I'm not surprised to see so many posts from Wyoming LDS defend their fans because they have become desensitized to the vileness, just like Utah fans. For 5 years, I laughed when my Wyoming fan church friends would explain how they had to defend their visiting family members who wore BYU gear from other Wyoming fans' verbal and physical abuse (usually students). And then they would be the first to defend their fellow Poke fans and talk smack at how bad BYU is.
I can handle the hatred, but it is hard to hear the constant anti-Mormon tirades after each play for 3 hours. Hoping that the warm San Diego weather helps them keep the anti rhetoric to a minimum. That was the biggest difference between AFA and Wyoming fans...AFA fans didn't bring religion into it, they just wanted to beat us on the field.
