A certain phrase meant to criticize the team that I can't stand:
"Church Ball"

Do people just say it because they suck at basketball when they play with their ward and if BYU ever makes a dumb play it must be "church ball"?

Or do people honestly think BYU players have a "church ball mentality" on the court? Because I sure don't and I doubt any of these guys really had time for church ball while growing up. I see this phrase used by CB'ers, Utes and BYU fans on Facebook, and in the office.

It's not like BYU is the only team in the NCAA who takes dumb shots, has errant passes that lead to turnovers, or run past their man on the arc. Are those teams playing "church" ball as well?

I probably shouldn't care about this as much as I do.
