That's an argument that can be said about Utah too
Replacing your top receivers, your NFL RB, most of the Oline and you'll be facing what could be a top 15 defense.
And your best asset -- a consistent kicker -- is a mystery this season.
Doesn't sound like a gimme for Utah at all.

I'm expecting between 6-6 and 8-4.

Magnum was a true freshman against decent defenses
BYU '80
6/28/17 2:30pm
Mangum was bad against good defenses.

Did you forget the 2nd half of the Vegas Bowl?

No, I didn't.

He was very bad in the first half, very good in the second half

He was much better in the second half, but I'm not sure he was "very good".

BYU '80

He was 22 years old.
displacedute
6/28/17 3:05pm
Sure it is. Three years removed probably a bigger disadvantage than 18
BYU '80
6/28/17 3:09pm
I'm saying being 22 makes you better than being 18.
displacedute
6/28/17 3:16pm
Mental advantage but definitely not athletically or skills
D.T. Survivor
6/28/17 4:19pm
Skills probably not.
displacedute
6/28/17 6:14pm
A little bit. Have you been on a mission?
D.T. Survivor

Exactly. Missions generally hinder athletic ability.

Boise state had several NFL guys on that defense and he did pretty well
BYU '80

No, he didn't.

6/28/17 3:12pm
So not bad in either case. Move the goal posts much?

Boise was a good defense and he was good.

8-4...50/50 against BYU. This one I feel less confident about than the last
Rise as Utes

Since 1993, Utah leads the Holy War 16-7. Utah wins again vs BYU, goes 8-4.

so, simply by inductive reasoning?

8-4 is based on the current team - I just had to get in that 16-7 jab.

7-5 with 60% probability that BYU wins this year.
