a point or two to pick at...
"BYU defense seems to also excel against pro-style offenses, but they struggle against teams who spread it out and then throw the ball all over the field. Utah's new offensive philosophy revolves around spreading the field and throwing it all over. But do they have the personnel to execute that strategy?"

BYU's defense struggles with offenses that like to throw deep. We cover the middle and short field well but when teams like to go vertical it leaves our corners a little exposed, imo.

As for Utah's new offense, it sounds like you just described the old offense that they've been running for years except they've never had a QB who could execute it so they have to rely on ground and pound to minimize mistakes. How long of a leash will Whitt give the offense before the mistakes pile up too much for his liking and it's back to ground and pound again? Last year Williams was near the bottom of the Pac in pass efficiency despite not having to throw the ball a lot and having the luxury of 4 future NFL draft picks out front blocking for him. He struggled to complete 53% of his passes.

Also, the more high powered the offense is the more it seems to take a toll on the defense. Your defense benefited a TON from the ground and pound offense in the past. They will be on the field a lot more this coming season than they have in the past with shorter rests in between.
