I'm not sure I agree that the amount of people is that high who could

get good positions out of undergrad that people from other schools would need grad degrees for. Undergrad vs. grad degrees are very different skill sets for the majority of careers and most likely being from a top tier undergrad wouldn't make you just as qualified as someone with a masters in the eyes of employers.
