Great. Be the bigger person. The rivalry
And the rancor it draws out is actually pretty silly in the big picture. I'm surprised people at that age would be that bitter.
I'm guessing you're a relatively young couple. Their disrespect will change as they get to know you and respect you better as a person. Sometimes it takes a while.
Family should always trump petty sports loyalties. Friendships too.
