TH has always been clear that sustainability
was being able to keep up financially with the P5. He said BYU could not do so indefinitely.
The facilities upgrades and COA stipends were the first salvos in the arms race.
The P5 now guarantee 4-year scholarships that cannot be rescinded for on-the-field performance or if someone better comes along.
They also pay the insurance premiums for 7 years after an athlete leaves the school (and does not enroll in another).
That adds quite a bit in the expense column. Does BYU offer the same?
Those are now recruiting points.
