Independence is not sustainable, but neither is a G5 football sustainable
College football is a monopoly of some 60 teams. The little guys are being squeezed out.
Instead of asking if independence is sustainable, reporters should ask if either independence or G5 football is sustainable. The focus would then not be on BYU's independence...which is more financially sound than any G5 team's...but on the state of college football as a whole.
