after going independent. We're making twice as much money via TV than we did, and we probably are seeing increased contribution from boosters. There are also more big-money games on the schedule. For example, we used to play TCU in conference for whatever pittance the conference contract called for. That one game we played against TCU early in our independence payed $2million (from ESPN), more than an entire year's worth of revenue we used to get on the TV side from the MWC. The LSU game we just played paid us several million dollars.
In any event, there isn't even an argument to be made that going independent has been a huge financial benefit for BYU.
