That's not true. Pro style teams rely on athleticism to win
It relies on players beating their man. It's relies on timing and athleticism in the passing game and a superior rushing attack.

There is practically no deception in a pro style attack (or very little).

Spread uses deception, capitalizes on mismatches, and forces the D to cover more ground.

Both work better with a run game, but the spread can create mismatches in the passing game and also open up the run game.
