"Then when we ran a read option lastyear..he suddenly was able to move the ball"
...most of the time when we ran RPO with Taysom it was at the end of a half or the end of the game when the opposing defense eased back on the throttle and was trying to give us the underneath stuff and guard against the homerun ball. It makes any QB look good. We also were in hurry-up in those moments which again gives the false impression that all of a sudden the offense is moving the ball and is somehow better.

If anything, forcing Taysom last year to play under center, make pre-snap reads, stay in the pocket and keep his eyes downfield helped prepare him to make an NFL roster more than the RPO.
