I agree that hashtag activism can't be the endgame. But to the degree that it creates openings for further conversation to take place on an intrapersonal level, that's a good thing. Anecdotally, I've seen that happen in the days after the #MeToo campaign take place, and that's a good thing. We likely won't see the thousands or millions of conversations that take place offline and in-person, and we can be okay with that.
