your entire post, but mostly your second to last paragraph is cause for major
concern and i think demonstrates a major defect in his ability to lead a program and ultimately why he will fail. their job is to shut out the opposition, to prevent first downs and create turnovers. unless they did those things, they didn't do their job.
doing their job better than the offense did their job =/= doing their job. that kind of attitude and the willingness to consistently single out one unit while excusing the faults of the others shows a significant lack of leadership and creates a losing culture.
