So now KS knows the offense is impotent, he knows the defense can never afford to give up the quick score. Ever. So the defense makes that tradeoff. That results in the numbers you cite.
We don’t take risks on defense. Ever. So we don’t get “havoc” plays. But we do the best we can to keep the ball in front of us always.
It’s a mistake to believe the defense we are seeing is the defense we would use if the offense worked.
