Big, but hardly amazing. That he was allowed the run the game-winning route in
such a big opening game as a true Frosh was VERY SUSPICIOUS.
The next week he was pictured & featured in a big instate article along w/ Staley & Tahi as part of a fabulous freshman class.
Lil Hale was a marginal recruit at best for a team the caliber of BYU (& he ultimately proved that). The press & buzz he got early on I GUARANTEE was NOT well received by many far more deserving players on that team.
It's a big reason I didn't mind watching the door hit Val's tail hard on his way out as AD.
