I showed you a pic of the Boise State OL that MANHANDLED our DL to the tune of 24-7. Four white guys--probably all from the mountain west or California. So yeah, BYU doesn't need to recruit as well as Wisconsin; BYU just needs to coach and develop players as well as Boise State does.

Look, I'm not saying that I don't want Kalani to succeed. I truly hope that he re-establishes discipline, turns the ship and is very successful from next year onward.

Nor am I saying that I don't want a football team that reflects the racial and cultural diversity of the Church. I love having a plethora of Polys on the team. I am also really gratified that we now have a steady trickle of black LDS athletes and I look forward to that growing in time.

With all that said, it is absolutely stupid to say that you can't fire a bad coach because he's Poly and then we won't get any more Polys to come to BYU and we won't be able to compete in the trenches. That's just straight up ridiculous. Even if we had to go back to the farmboy lines of the 70s and 80s, we'd be fine (provided we had good coaching).

Auburn survived a backlash worse than we would get from firing Kalani. We would survive this too.
