It's not necessary for BYU to 100% of the time, hire
a guy who has already been an OC.

And what kind of awful question is that about hiring? Are you suggesting anyone who has ever been hired for a job already had experience? Quite the accomplishment. Wonder how it's physically possible. Ever heard of a promotion? Were all managers born with management experience? I seriously don't know what logic that question is supposed to carry with it.

And nope, I haven't hired someone... But you know who has? The many head coaches around the country who have hired first-time coordinators. Or the athletic directors who have hired first-time head coaches. Shocking huh? It's like some people think everyone was born with experience.

Funny that you think BYU should be exempt from ever doing such a thing when we literally have a smaller pool than basically everyone. Yeah that's a great practice.

A few of the top 20 offenses in the nation this year had first-year OC's. Who has the best offense in the country? Yep, Oklahoma. Ever heard of Lincoln Riley? He was a position coach for like 3 years and ECU made the awful decision (according to you) to offer him their OC spot. They had bad QB play and his first year he went and found a JC guy who came right in to pass for 4000 yds.

Curious why you think BYU is completely exempt from ever doing it? Do we have loads of experience lining up to adhere to BYU's mission and be OC for a while? Are you under the impression that experience at a lower level is always 100% better in every way, than promoting an FBS (P5) position coach? Do you know what the differences are?

Nah, they're fine.
