I remember looking this up because I wanted to know. If i remember correctly according to wikipedia(take it for what its

worth) that the NIT wasn't considered the best after 1950 but they or I could be wrong.

If it can be argued one way or the other than we need a national championship banner in the Marriott. Other schools have done it in football etc. Why not us?

EDIT: Apparently ESPN considers us National Champions in 51. That's good enough for me
