Applying a UVU recruiting model maybe gets you excited...but we lose games.
It is very exciting for some Utah County folks to get 5th tier, low ability players, just because they are not LDS or Black or something. (Usually a mentality of Utah County folks that think any Black recruit must be equal to Michael Jordan).
Look, we are recruiting bottom of the barrel recruits, and the fact that they are not LDS or black is irrelevant.
We aren't chasing diversity... we are recruiting. They largely can't shoot the ball and are terrible talents.
Better, to recruit local LDS kids (any race) like the ones Pope ran off. UVUs starting PG is a black LDS kid and was run off by Pope.
