BYU rarely recruits elite non-LDS kids in basketball.
We are not Gonzaga. They aren't coming here. That's our tradition and reality.
Our best talent over the decades has mostly been LDS kids from Utah and Idaho, and an occasional non-LDS talent. Top 25 teams.
Now, we see Pope going away from that and doing his same strategy he employed at UVU. Getting a ton of nonlocal talent that is bottom of the barrel talent, but has some Utah County folks excited because "diversity". Results are we lose to teams like UVU.
