I have a relative that lives in Kentucky (big basketball fan/family connections to the program). Because I don't follow the Kentucky program, this came as news to me. I was told many wanted Calipari gone - "take your wokeness and leave" was the phrase I heard a few times; and they were happy he left. That's just what I heard. How big this fan segment is I do not know nor do I know how influential they are directly with the program (boosters, money, NIL, etc.).

I'm sure "not being woke" was really low on the basketball head-coach qualification list for Kentucky. However, Mark Pope does fit that requirement. In that very small/narrow way, he does make sense for them (along with everything else that has already been said).
