Pulling a scholarship is not being a jerk.
Benching a player that is struggling is not being a jerk.
Recruiting players from an old team is not being a jerk (even recruiting BYU players to Kentucky)
Those are the actions of a coach that wants to win.
I’m sure Pope can be a jerk at times - those above examples are not evidence of that though.
