That’s a separate question. But we went from having the “best locker room in
America” to having a fractured locker room at various times. And it’s obvious that burning bridges with a bunch of local LDS players and a local AAU coach is bad for recruiting. There’s already a limited pool of players to recruit from. Making that pool smaller is not smart. And I think there’s quite a bit of data suggesting that it’s very difficult to build a consistent program when you’re rebuilding every year and bringing in a bunch of portal players. Top programs can deal with that sort of thing because they’re getting the best from the portal. It’s much tougher for the non-blue bloods.
