I would tell him to start throwing left all the time. If he is that comfortable

then shouldn't be a problem. Also sounds like he could be a switch hitter which is a big benefit.

There is a reason people want left-handed pitching as the # of people who are left-handed are much less and you become a potential hot commodity if you can throw pretty good.

Lefties can play plenty, including catcher…but if you have an arm they make you a pitcher. Hence no lefty catchers.
