Are you planning for his future in MLB? Or just curious about him playing?

Honestly - at that age I'd just let him do what he does. If you're set on getting him into the MLB, then I suppose it may make a difference.

But the reality is that his success in sports is probably going to be much more dependent upon his general athleticism (and the genes you gave him) and not which hand you had him throw with when he was 5.

Outside of pitcher, right handed people can play more positions in baseball.

Lefties can play plenty, including catcher…but if you have an arm they make you a pitcher. Hence no lefty catchers.
